One of the most popular investing myths is that a good technical startup needs a co-founder who can handle all of the technology or software development. And the lack of a Silicon Valley tech wizard spells failure or doom.
But that’s really outdated thinking. As Vin Narayanan and Andy Gordon explain in this week’s Startup Insider, having a technical founder on the team is a big plus — but it’s far from required.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that a startup founder knows their industry. And if there’s something they don’t know, they need to hire somebody who does.
