State Level
Washington D.C. is an interesting case, it isn’t a state and the federal government is based there.
Status: Cannabis is fully legal following a 2014 ballot referendum.
However, Congress exercises oversight on the city’s government, preventing them from regulating cannabis sales like other jurisdictions. Because cannabis is illegal federally you can be arrested for possession on any federal land in D.C., which is about 29% of the city’s 18 square mile area. That includes the National Mall, other parks, museums, government buildings etc.
Federal Representatives
The district has no federal representation.
