Last week I attended the Bitcoin 2021 conference in Miami. It was an incredible experience.
I came out of it fired up about bitcoin and the broader crypto markets (including DeFi, which I haven’t always been a huge fan of).
Here are some of my favorite discussions from the show (all of which are on YouTube):
- Ron Paul on Monetary Freedom
- What To Do When Your Country Bans Bitcoin
- The Bitcoin Macro Landscape
- WTF Happened In 1971?
- Bitcoin Mining Fixes Our Energy Problems
Some of the presentations were over the top (Michael Saylor and Max Keiser’s “fireside chat” comes to mind). But overall there was a lot of great information. The networking was amazing. And it felt fantastic to have fun with new people (in the real world!) again. I’m invigorated and fired up.
I had MANY discussions about altcoins during the trip. Two coins I am watching more closely (not buying yet) are Solana (SOL) and Polygon (MATIC). I realized I’ve been overlooking DeFi to my detriment for a while now. However, that doesn’t mean I’m buying in here. These coins, and many other promising projects, are still very highly valued. I may have to wait until the next bear market to build a position.
You can watch day 1 of the conference here and day 2 here.
I’ll have more to share next week. Overall I remain very bullish on bitcoin (and a bit concerned over the sharpness of the recent drop) and more interested in altcoins than I’ve been in a long time.
