Dear Startup Investor,
We’re just two days away from a very special event.
So if you haven’t done so yet, save this date: Wednesday, October 15, noon.
If you act quickly, and if there are slots left, you’ll be spending an hour with Shark Tank‘s Barbara Corcoran. Plus our good friends at Onevest.
I’ve participated in these events before. It’s a lot of fun.
But this event is shaping up to be extra special.
It’s not every day you get to sit in judgment of presenting companies alongside an investor as shrewd and charismatic as Barbara Corcoran.
We’ll be streaming this Shark Tank event live to your computer or laptop. Barbara and our friends at Onevest have selected two impressive young startups to vie for your respect, good wishes and (if you choose) investment dollars.
Two founders of two fast-growing companies, one in the fashion world, the other catering to millennials, will tell you how their companies will grow, attract customers and generate profits.
Barbara Corcoran will give her opening remarks, commenting on her own experience as a startup investor.
Then she’ll turn the show over to you…
What will it be? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Debate them. Engage them. Ask them anything you want.
The companies themselves come from our friends at Onevest.
Onevest runs a high-quality startup portal. Both companies were vetted by Onevest and passed with flying colors. I’ve also looked them over and like what I see…
So far, anyway. But I’m very interested to see how the founders perform in a Shark Tank setting.
Any decision to invest is entirely up to you.
Now, you should understand that you can only participate if you’re an accredited investor.
To qualify, you must have been making $200,000 a year (or $300,000 as a couple) for at least the past two years. Or your personal assets, excluding your home, must total $1 million or more.
This requirement is spelled out in Rule 501 of Regulation D, mandated by Title II of the JOBS Act, issued by the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission.
Sorry, we don’t make the rules… (We’ll be launching these same “demo day” events for non-accredited investors later this year or at the beginning of next year, stay tuned…)
If you do qualify as an accredited investor, you’re in for a treat. Our members always give these events high marks.
You’ll get the chance to sit next to Corcoran, virtually speaking, of course. These founders will have seven minutes each to make a positive impression on you and Barbara.
And if they do a good job and impress you?
I’ve arranged for Onevest to set up a one-on-one telephone call with the company of your choice. Or with both companies if that’s what you prefer.
If you’re interested in this event (and why wouldn’t you be?), and you think you qualify as an accredited investor, register here with Onevest.
So mark it down on your calendar so you won’t forget: Wednesday, October 15, from 12 to 1 p.m.
I recommend you sign up as soon as possible. It’s a great way to learn what makes a good pitch and how founders talk about their products and progress.
Once you sign up, sit back and relax. On the morning of the webinar, Onevest will email you login information to access the “demo day” event.
I hope you can join us. It’s a great experience, whether you are new to the startup scene or are a wily veteran.
Again, you can register right here:

Sincerely,
